British Columbia immigration has conducted a new provincial draw, issuing 311 invitations to apply with specific criteria related to the coronavirus outbreak.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The March 30 draw saw <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/british-columbia-immigration\/\">British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program<\/a> officials move to exclude categories and occupations at the sharp end of the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe COVID-19 outbreak has had an impact on the provincial economy in an unprecedented way,\u201d a BC PNP statement said.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cBusinesses throughout the province have reduced services, laid off staff, and in some cases have closed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The statement added: \u201cWe know that some sectors have been affected more significantly than others and by extension, certain occupations in these sectors have been particularly vulnerable to changes in employment status.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sDB0CFzBX_s\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; Retail and wholesale trade managers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>0631 &#8211; Restaurant and food service managers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>0632 &#8211; Accommodation service managers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>0651 &#8211; Managers in customer and personal services, n.e.c.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>1123 &#8211; Professional occupations in advertising, marketing and public relations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>1221 &#8211; Administrative officers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>1241 &#8211; Administrative assistants<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>3236 &#8211; Massage therapists<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>6211 &#8211; Retail sales supervisors<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>6311 &#8211; Foodservice supervisors<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>6313 &#8211; Accommodation, travel, tourism and related services supervisors<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>6321 &#8211; Chefs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>6322 &#8211; Cooks<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>6341 &#8211; Hairstylists and barbers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Despite the impact of the lockdown, the B.C. statement also reiterated the province\u2019s commitment to bringing in more immigrants to help fight longer-term demographic challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cNotwithstanding the uncertainty in our current economic situation, B.C. faces a demographic reality that over the next 10 years we will continue to need new immigrants to help fill the jobs so B.C.\u2019s economy can continue to grow,\u201d the statement said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cNow, it is even more important that we do not lose sight of our long-term objectives and the role that immigration plays to support quality economic growth across all regions of B.C.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The draw saw invitations issued across four BC PNP categories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Skilled workers through the direct provincial stream required 102 points to qualify, while Express Entry skilled workers required 105 points.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For both the direct provincial and Express Entry international graduate streams, 102 points were the minimum score.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1e4ogmmk90\">Did You Get Invited in the March 30 B.C.
