2020-03-04 – Canada immigration authorities have conducted a new Express Entry<\/a> draw, issuing 3,900 Invitations to Apply<\/a> for permanent residence.<\/span><\/p>\n

The March 4 draw saw the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a> score increase by one point to 471 when compared to the previous draw.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was the first draw since Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada smashed the record for ITAs in a single draw, inviting 4,500 candidates on February 19.<\/span><\/p>\n

Canada has now issued 18,700 ITAs so far in 2020, after issuing a total of 85,300 in 2019. IRCC broke the record for annual Express Entry ITAs in 2018 with 89,800.<\/span><\/p>\n

Canada\u2019s high-skilled immigration admission target for 2020 is<\/span> <\/span>85,800, up from 81,400 in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was the fifth round of invitations under\u00a0Express Entry<\/a>\u00a0in 2020 and\u00a0138th<\/sup>\u00a0overall<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Express Entry?<\/h3>\n

Express Entry is an immigration system implemented by Canadian immigration authorities (IRCC) on January 1, 2015 which manages skilled worker applications under Federal Economic programs. This includes the\u00a0Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/a>, the\u00a0Federal Skilled Trades Program\u00a0<\/a>the\u00a0Canada Experience Class<\/a>\u00a0and parts of the\u00a0Provincial Nomination Programs<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stakeholders expect to see near 30 draws and more than 80,000 invitations issued in 2020, with a majority of draws featuring CRS scores around\u00a0470\u00a0to enable Canadian immigration authorities to meet targeted\u00a0annual immigration levels for 20<\/a><\/span>20<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
