December 10, 2018 – Minimum scores edged down as Saskatchewan immigration<\/a> conducted a new draw under its Expression of Interest system.<\/p>\n

The December 6 draw saw invitations to apply issued to 743 candidates through the province\u2019s Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry streams.<\/p>\n

Through the Occupations In-Demand stream, 532 candidates were invited with a minimum score of 61 points.<\/p>\n

Express Entry<\/a> candidates required the same minimum score, with 211 candidates invited.<\/p>\n

All of the EOI candidates invited had Educational Credential Assessments, which is required for Saskatchewan applications.<\/p>\n

The province says it plans to conduct a minimum of one draw per month going forwards.<\/p>\n

Saskatchewan has now conducted seven draws under the EOI system.<\/p>\n

The previous draw, on November 23, saw a record 514 invites issued under both the Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry streams. The lowest-ranked candidates scored 64 and 63 points respectively.<\/p>\n

What is the Process for Saskatchewan Expression of Interest?<\/h3>\n

  1. Submit EOI profile.<\/li>\n
  2. Enter EOI candidate pool.<\/li>\n
  3. EOI candidates selected.<\/li>\n
  4. Invitations to Apply issued via regular draws.<\/li>\n
  5. Candidates submit full application within 60 days.<\/li>\n
  6. SINP officials assess applications and make decision.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    What Are The Requirements For The Occupation-In-Demand Sub-Category?<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Score a minimum of 60 points on the SINP points assessment grid;<\/li>\n
    • Have a language score of\u00a0at least\u00a0Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4. Employers and regulatory bodies may ask for higher;<\/li>\n
    • Have completed one year of post-secondary education, training or apprenticeship comparable to the Canadian education system. You must have earned a diploma, certificate or degree.\n

      • Degrees and diplomas obtained outside Canada subject to an Educational Credential Assessment;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • At least one-year work experience in the past 10 years:\n
          \n
        • In your field of education or training occupation, and<\/li>\n
        • In an occupation in NOC A, B, 0 included on the in-demand occupation list.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Obtain the appropriate licensure in Saskatchewan if your field so requires, as the authorities will not process an application without the licensure.<\/li>\n
        • Have proof of\u00a0settlement funds and a settlement plan.<\/li>\n
        • Pay a non-refundable $300 application fee online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          What Are The Requirements For The Saskatchewan Express Entry Sub-Category?<\/h3>\n

          Candidates from outside Canada, or with legal status in Canada, qualify for this\u00a0Saskatchewan immigration\u00a0category, provided they are not a refugee claimant.<\/p>\n

          Additionally, candidates must:<\/p>\n

            \n
          • Have a profile in the Express Entry Pool, with profile number and job seeker validation code;<\/li>\n
          • Score a minimum of 60 points on the SINP points assessment grid;<\/li>\n
          • Provide valid language test results from a designated testing agency matching those in the Express Entry profile;<\/li>\n
          • Have completed one year of post-secondary education, training or apprenticeship comparable to the Canadian education system. You must have earned a diploma, certificate or degree.\n
              \n
            • Degrees and diplomas obtained outside Canada subject to an Educational Credential Assessment;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
            • Have at least one of the following experience requirements in your field of education or training occupation:\n

              • One year of work experience in the past 10 years in a skilled profession (non-trades);<\/li>\n
              • Two years of work experience in a skilled trade in the past five years; or<\/li>\n
              • One year of work experience in Canada in the past three years (trades and non-trades).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
              • Have work experience in a high-skilled occupation in NOC A, B, 0 included on the in-demand occupation list.<\/li>\n
              • Obtain the appropriate licensure in Saskatchewan where your profession is regulated, or a skilled trade. For skilled trades, a certificate is required from the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission.<\/li>\n
