Under GTS, those workers can be processed for <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-work-visa\/\">Canada work permits<\/a> in two weeks, offering a flexibility Canadian companies have never known.<\/p>\n<p><b>Read More<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canadas-new-global-talent-stream-need-know\/\">Canada\u2019s New Global Talent Stream: All You Need To Know<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canadas-global-talent-stream-full-list-demand-jobs\/\">Canada\u2019s Global Talent Stream: Full List Of In-Demand Jobs<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-launches-new-global-talent-stream\/\">Canada Launches New Global Talent Stream<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Innovation Minister Navdeep Bain said: \u201cThe Global Skills Strategy will allow Canadian employers, who are investing in people and skills here in Canada, to continue to grow by attracting top talent from around the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether it\u2019s developing a new product line or leading a new sales team, bringing in the best and the brightest from around the world will result in more good-quality, middle-class jobs for Canadians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under the <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-work-permit-global-talent-stream\/\">Global Talent Stream<\/a>, companies are required to develop a Labour Market Benefits Plan (LMBP) in partnership with the government before they can access the fast-track work permit.<\/p>\n<p>A company can be referred by an approved organization, or bring in talent from a list of occupations in demand under the two categories of the stream.<\/p>\n<p>This requirement to benefit Canada, either through job creation or knowledge transfer, is central to the Global Skills Strategy, under which the GTS falls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEmployers that are making plans for job-creating investments in Canada will often need an experienced leader, dynamic researcher or an innovator with unique skills not readily available in Canada to make that investment happen,\u201d said Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Global Skills Strategy aims to give those employers confidence that when they need to hire from abroad, they\u2019ll have faster, more reliable access to top talent.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Global Talent Stream At A Glance<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Streamlined Process<\/strong><br \/>\nCompanies applying for workers through GTS have access to a streamlined process that provides eligible employers with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Priority processing of applications and a client-focused service for the development of the Labour Market Benefits Plan, with a service standard of 10 business days.<\/li>\n<li>Flexible recruitment requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Two-Week Standard<\/strong><br \/>\nTwo-week work permit processing for workers applying from overseas for approved employers, as well as foreign nationals with jobs at skill type 0 (executive, managerial) or skill level A (professional) of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) applying through the International Mobility Program. The two-week service standard would also apply to immediate family members accompanying high-skilled workers to Canada.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Work-Permit Exemption<\/strong><br \/>\nThe new work permit exemption for highly-skilled workers applies to all NOC 0 and NOC A workers. Eligible workers will be allowed one 15-day work permit-exempt stay in Canada every six months, or one 30-day work permit-exempt stay every 12 months.<\/li>\n<li><strong>University Research<\/strong><br \/>\nResearchers coming to Canada will be permitted one 120-day stay every 12 months without requiring a work permit when they are working on a research project at a publicly-funded degree-granting institution or affiliated research institution.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recognized Referrers<\/strong><br \/>\nAgreements have been reached with a range of partners who will be able to refer companies to IRCC\u2019s new dedicated service channel and to ESDC\u2019s Global Talent Stream; discussions are continuing with many other potential partners.
