Just one missing document will give rise to an ineligible profile.

“In 2015 there were 191,000 profiles submitted, with 88,000 considered ineligible. That’s 46 per cent.”

Making it into the Express Entry Pool means an initial analysis of your credentials ensures you qualify for at least one of Canada’s skilled worker immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, the Canada Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Programs.

Once you are in, you are given a score, and the best scoring candidates are selected via periodic draws to receive an ITA.

Once you get that coveted ITA, you have 90 days to submit an application (up from 60 days as of November 2016).

Failure To Perfect Applications

Revealingly, a significant number of candidates fail to perfect their applications.

“Also surprising is that 38 per cent of those that received ITAs did not perfect their applications in time,” immigration attorney Singer said.

“That’s quite a lot of people not able to submit a proper Express Entry profile, then even those that do get an invitation are not able to perfect their applications within the timeframe.”

Singer also took not of the declining number of active profiles, which was 64,000 in January 2016, 58,000 in January 2017 and 49,000 on April 13, 2017, according to IRCC figures.

Fore more analysis of the Canada Express Entry data, watch the video below:

May 11, 2017 – Canada immigration lawyer Colin Singer analyzes revealing Canada Express Entry facts and figures from 2016 in the latest immigration.ca livestream video.
