Canada\u2019s most populous province is expanding the Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream of its Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(OINP) to include all international students who have completed one-year college graduate certificate programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cPreviously, the OINP\u2019s Employer Job Offer: International Student stream<\/span><\/a> allowed candidates to apply with a one-year credential from an eligible institution only if the program required the completion of a degree as an admission requirement,\u201d notes the OINP website.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this change, the OINP allows applicants of any one-year college program that grants an Ontario College Graduate Certificate to qualify.\u201d<\/p>\n

The change, which came into effect Jan. 1, does not affect those who have previously submitted applications but does now increase the number of certificate programs eligible for international student immigration under the province\u2019s Provincial Nominee Program<\/span><\/a> (PNP).<\/p>\n

Most one-year graduate certificate programs in Ontario are now eligible for international student immigration.<\/p>\n

Since Ontario has changed its Expression of Interest (EOI) scoring factors for additional Canadian educational credentials and the highest educational credential obtained in keeping with the expansion of this stream, the province is encouraging applicants who have not yet been invited to apply to review the changes as they may now be eligible.<\/p>\n

The revisions also include changes to the list of eligible educational institutions for this stream.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe encourage potential applicants to check the OINP website before they apply for the updated requirements and scoring and to ensure they meet all stream criteria,\u201d notes the OINP website.<\/p>\n
