{"id":131569,"date":"2023-12-12T15:29:44","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T20:29:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/international-experience-canada-now-open-for-2024-applicants\/"},"modified":"2023-12-12T15:29:44","modified_gmt":"2023-12-12T20:29:44","slug":"international-experience-canada-now-open-for-2024-applicants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/international-experience-canada-now-open-for-2024-applicants\/","title":{"rendered":"International Experience Canada Now Open For 2024 Applicants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Immigration Minister Marc Miller opened the 2024 season of the <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/international-experience-canada-program\/\">International\u00a0Experience\u00a0Canada<\/a> (IEC) program on Monday so that nearly 90,000 young people from IEC partner countries and territories can<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>come to Canada and participate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCanada benefits when young people around the world participate in International Experience Canada,\u201d said Miller.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis program will help Canadian employers in their search for talented employees but will also serve to stimulate the tourism sector across the country.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also hope that young Canadians will take advantage of the reciprocal aspect of this program to gain work and travel experience from around the world that will serve them throughout their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Read More<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/popularity-for-the-rural-and-northern-immigration-pilot-soars-before-expiration\/\">Popularity for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Soars Before Expiration<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/unemployment-nudges-up-again-as-canadian-population-growth-outstrips-increase-in-jobs\/\">Unemployment Nudges Up Again As Canadian Population Growth Outstrips Increase In Jobs<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-immigrants-missing-out-on-benefits-by-not-filing-income-tax-returns-in-first-year\/\">Canada Immigrants Missing Out On Benefits By Not Filing Income Tax Returns In First Year\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Applicants to the IEC can now submit a profile since the process re-opened on Dec. 11.<\/p>\n<p>There are three categories under the IEC:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working Holiday participants receive an open work permit that allows them to work anywhere in the host country to support their travels.<\/li>\n<li>International Co-op (Internship) participants receive an employer-specific work permit that allows students to gain targeted experience in their field of study.<\/li>\n<li>Young Professionals participants receive an employer-specific work permit to gain targeted, professional work experience within their field of study or career path.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Under the IEC, Canadian and international youth aged 18 \u2013 35 get to work and travel in each other\u2019s countries.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Canada has established youth mobility partnerships with over 35 countries and territories and in 2023, signed new deals with Finland, Iceland and Ukraine and improved existing ones with South Korea and the United Kingdom.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>That gave Canadian youth more options than ever to gain international experience by visiting those partner countries.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Watch Video<\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ujonIX2rSC0?si=Em8cJF02K2XUrwK9\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) also expanded its use of automation to identify routine applications for streamlined processing, to support the growth of IEC and to facilitate work and travel for international youth in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Youth will be able to participate in the Canada\u2013Ukraine youth mobility agreement once travel to Ukraine becomes safe and Russian President Vladimir Putin\u2019s war on that country comes to an end.<\/p>\n<p>Under the IEC, applicants have the option of coming to work and travelling in Canada with the help of a Recognized Organization (RO) to help them plan their trip.<\/p>\n<p>These organizations, which usually charge a fee for their services, can help applicants:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>get information about Canadian culture, languages, laws, taxes, and job opportunities;<\/li>\n<li>find transportation, and;<\/li>\n<li>provide general support and advice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Using an RO can help some of those who may want to apply from non-IEC countries to come to Canada through the program. Every applicant to the IEC who is using an RO needs to provide a confirmation letter indicating that the organization is helping him or her and upload it to his or her profile.<\/p>\n<h3>Seven Recognized Organizations Can Help IEC Applicants Get Work Permits<\/h3>\n<p>Here is a list of these recognized organizations, their target markets, the work permit they help provide and the countries in which they operate.<\/p>\n<p><b>AIESEC\u00a0Canada<\/b><\/p>\n<p>AIESEC\u00a0Canada\u00a0is a non-profit organization that helps develop leadership in\u00a0youth.<\/p>\n<p><b>Types of work permits:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Young Professionals (employer-specific work permit) for career development<\/p>\n<p><b>Target market:<\/b>\u00a0Youth\u00a0aged 18 to 30<\/p>\n<p><b>Eligible to:<\/b>\u00a0IEC\u00a0countries\/territories, Brazil, India<\/p>\n<p><b>Go\u00a0International<\/b><\/p>\n<p>GO\u00a0International\u00a0is a Canadian organization that offers work and travel opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><b>Types of work permits:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Working Holiday (open work permit)<\/p>\n<p><b>Target market:<\/b>\u00a0Youth\u00a0aged 18 to 35<\/p>\n<p><b>Eligible to:<\/b>\u00a0IEC\u00a0countries\/territories, the United States<\/p>\n<h3>International\u00a0Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical\u00a0Experience\u00a0(IAESTE)<\/h3>\n<p>IAESTE\u00a0offers opportunities in technical career-related jobs.<\/p>\n<p><b>Types of work permits:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Young Professionals (employer-specific work permit) for career development<\/p>\n<p>International\u00a0Co-op (Internship) (employer-specific work permit) for students<\/p>\n<p><b>Target market:<\/b>\u00a0Youth\u00a0aged in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>agriculture<\/li>\n<li>hospitality<\/li>\n<li>culinary arts<\/li>\n<li>tourism<\/li>\n<li>horticulture<\/li>\n<li>landscaping<\/li>\n<li>other sectors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Types of
