it opened the door to a new pathway to immigration for them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The flagship Express Entry selection system had previously only conducted draws based on\u00a0immigration\u00a0programs, not by targeting specific occupations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Candidates hoping to immigrate through Express Entry occupation-targeted draws need at least six months of continuous work experience in Canada or abroad within the past three years in one of these occupations\u00a0to\u00a0be eligible, experience that can have been gained while working in Canada as temporary foreign workers with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/visa-de-travail-canadien-travailler-au-canada\/\"><span class=\"s1\">work permits<\/span><\/a>\u00a0or as an international student with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/travailler-etudier-au-canada\/\"><span class=\"s1\">student visa<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Strong Job Growth Forecast For Machine Fitters In Canada<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Canadian Occupational Projection System (COPS) lumps in machine fitters, categorized under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canadas-new-noc-2021-for-immigration-and-work-permit-applications-takes-effect-today\/\"><span class=\"s1\">National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021<\/span><\/a>\u00a0system with the code 72405, with heating, refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics as well as elevator constructors and mechanics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">That COPS website makes it clear the demand for machine fitters in Canada is likely to remain strong for many years to come with solid job growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cAlthough the labour shortage conditions seen in recent years were expected to be temporary, the projected number of job seekers is not expected to be large enough to return this occupation to balance conditions over the projection period,\u201d notes the COPS website.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Are you an employer looking to hire foreign workers in Canada? <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Immigration.ca<\/b><\/span><\/a><b> can help through its sister company, <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/skilledworker.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>skilledworker.com<\/b><\/span><\/a><b>.
