Natural healing practitioners are going to see such growth in demand for Canada jobs<\/span><\/a> over the next nine years that the country will need to recruit these workers from other countries and grant them permanent residence<\/span><\/a>\u00a0here through occupation-targeted\u00a0Express Entry<\/span><\/a>\u00a0system draws.<\/p>\n

The Job Bank, job-hunting and career-planning website lumps in natural healing practitioners, categorized under the\u00a0National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021<\/span><\/a>\u00a0system with the code 32209, with massage therapists and other occupations in therapy and assessment.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor practitioners of natural healing; massage therapists and other technical occupations in therapy and assessment, over the period 2022 – 2031, new job openings arising from expansion demand and replacement demand are expected to total 36,000, while 28,300 new job seekers arising from school leavers, immigration and mobility are expected to be available to fill them,\u201d reports Job Bank.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a looming labour shortage of 7,700 of these workers in Canada over the coming nine years.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough this occupational group has had a balanced market in recent years, projected job openings are expected to be substantially higher to job seekers, creating a shortage of workers over the 2022-2031 period,\u201d notes Job Bank.<\/p>\n

With changes made to Canadian immigration earlier this year, that labour shortage of natural healing practitioners is a boon for foreign nationals hoping to come live and work here.<\/p>\n

When Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced Canada\u2019s Express Entry system would begin targeting 82 jobs in healthcare, technology, trades, transport and agriculture this summer \u2013 including\u00a0natural healing practitioners, it opened the door to a new pathway to immigration for them.<\/p>\n

The flagship Express Entry selection system had previously only conducted draws based on\u00a0immigration\u00a0programs, not by targeting specific occupations.<\/p>\n

Candidates hoping to immigrate through Express Entry occupation-targeted draws will need at least six months of continuous work experience in Canada or abroad within the past three years in one of these occupations\u00a0to\u00a0be eligible, experience that can have been gained while working in Canada as temporary foreign workers with a\u00a0work permits<\/span><\/a>\u00a0or as an international student with a\u00a0student visa<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Job Bank federal job-hunting and career-planning website gives a ranking of very good, its highest rating, for the job prospects of these workers in Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan and a ranking of good for Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.<\/p>\n

Natural Healing Practitioners Can Earn Up To $107,250 Annually In Canada<\/h3>\n

The median hourly wage for natural healing practitioners in Canada is $29.67 but that varies from a low of $22 right up\u00a0to\u00a0$55, reveals Job Bank.<\/p>\n

Based on a standard, 37.5-hour work week, that means natural healing practitioners can expect\u00a0to\u00a0earn up\u00a0to\u00a0$107,250 per year in Canada.<\/p>\n

Under the changes announced at the end of May, the Express Entry streams, including the\u00a0Federal Skilled Worker<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(FSW) program,\u00a0Federal Skilled Trades<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(FST) program and\u00a0Canadian Experience Class<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(CEC), as well as parts of the\u00a0Provincial Nominee Programs<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(PNP) are now more responsive\u00a0to\u00a0labour market needs.<\/p>\n
