These activities are as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#Security_Grounds\"><strong>Security Grounds<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#Human_International_Rights_Violations\"><strong>Human or International Rights Violations<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><a href=\"#Serious_Criminality\">Serious Criminality<\/a><\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#Organized-Crime\"><strong>Organized Crime<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#Health-Grounds\"><strong>Health Grounds<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#Financial-Reasons\"><strong>Financial Reasons<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#Misrepresentation\"><strong>Misrepresentation<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#Inadmissible-Family-Member\"><strong><strong><strong>Inadmissible Family Member<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><a name=\"Security_Grounds\"><\/a>Security Grounds<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foreign nationals will be refused a work permit if they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have been involved in spying against Canada or spying that is against Canada\u2019s interests<\/li>\n<li>Have been involved in anti-government behaviour against any government<\/li>\n<li>Have committed terrorist acts<\/li>\n<li>Have otherwise been a danger to the security of Canada<\/li>\n<li>Have been a member of a group that engages in the activities mentioned above<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a name=\"Human_International_Rights_Violations\"><\/a>Human or International Rights Violations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foreign nationals will be refused a work permit if they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have committed a crime against humanity or a war crime outside of Canada<\/li>\n<li>Have been a high ranking official in a government that has committed acts of:\n<ul>\n<li>Terrorism<\/li>\n<li>Systematic or gross human rights violations<\/li>\n<li>Genocide<\/li>\n<li>War crimes<\/li>\n<li>Crimes against humanity<\/li>\n<li>Have been sanctioned by an international organization of which Canada is a member<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a name=\"Serious_Criminality\"><\/a>Serious Criminality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foreign nationals will be refused a work permit if they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have been convicted in Canada of a crime under Canadian law that can result in a maximum sentence of ten years in prison<\/li>\n<li>Have been convicted in Canada of a crime under Canadian law and have been given a prison sentence of more than six months<\/li>\n<li>Have been convicted of a crime outside of Canada that, if committed in Canada, would carry at least a 10-year prison sentence<\/li>\n<li>Have committed a crime outside of Canada that, if committed in Canada, would carry at least a 10-year prison sentence<\/li>\n<li>Have been convicted of a crime in Canada that is punishable by indictment<\/li>\n<li>Have been convicted of two or more crimes in Canada arising out of two or more separate incidents<\/li>\n<li>Have been convicted of a crime outside of Canada that, if committed in Canada, would be punishable by indictment. This crime may or may not also be considered a crime in the country where the crime took place.<\/li>\n<li>Have been convicted of two or more crimes arising out of two or more separate incidents that, if committed in Canada, would constitute crimes.<\/li>\n<li>Have committed a crime upon entering Canada<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a name=\"Organized-Crime\"><\/a>Organized Crime<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foreign nationals will be refused a work permit if they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are involved in organized crime within Canada<\/li>\n<li>Are involved in organized crime outside of Canada that, if done in Canada, would be a criminal offence<\/li>\n<li>Are involved in international organized crime activities such as:\n<ul>\n<li>People smuggling<\/li>\n<li>Human trafficking<\/li>\n<li>Money laundering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a name=\"Health-Grounds\"><\/a>Health Grounds<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A foreign national will be refused a work permit if they have a health condition that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is likely to be a danger to public health<\/li>\n<li>Is likely to be a danger to public safety<\/li>\n<li>Will likely place a large burden on Canada\u2019s public health or social service systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This rule does not apply to foreign work permit applicants who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are protected persons<\/li>\n<li>Are the spouse, common-law partner, child or other family member of a protected person<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a name=\"Financial-Reasons\"><\/a>Financial Reasons<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foreign nationals will be refused a work permit if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They are unwilling or unable to support themselves or their dependents upon arrival in Canada<\/li>\n<li>They have not satisfied a Canadian visa officer that they can support themselves and their dependents in ways that don\u2019t involve social assistance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a name=\"Misrepresentation\"><\/a>Misrepresentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foreign nationals will be refused a work permit if they directly or indirectly misrepresent or withhold any important information related to their work permit application.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a name=\"Inadmissible-Family-Member\"><\/a>Inadmissible Family Member<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foreign nationals will be refused a work permit if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One of their accompanying family members is inadmissible for reasons related to: organized crime, national security or international or human rights violations.<\/li>\n<li>They are the accompanying family members of somebody who is inadmissible for reasons related to: organized crime, national security or international or human rights violations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Interested employers:<\/strong>\u00a0Kindly\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-employers\/\" target=\"_blank\">contact us<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0here to receive further information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Interested candidates:\u00a0<\/strong>Find out whether you qualify to Canada by completing our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/free-immigration-evaluation-forms\/\" target=\"_blank\">free on-line evaluation<\/a>.
