The manager receiving the request would need to do their utmost for accommodating the request. This is particularly so if the request is for providing service in the applicant\u2019s official language. However, in case the request stems from an attempt to reduce the hearing inventory, the manager would need to consider the impact to their office\u2019s output first.<\/p>\n<p>The manager receiving the request would need to confirm the availability of their judge for performing hearings by videoconference. Once confirmed, the managers would need to agree upon the number of hearings and hearing dates. Similarly, the officers would need to keep the Office of the Senior Judge informed of the arrangements. They would do this via regular reporting of videoconference hearings that took place. Offices would also need to note instances of videoconference hearings planned on the monthly schedules they send to the Senior Judge\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>In general, the office whose applicants come in for interviews remains responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Ensuring that the office obtains consent for the videoconference hearing<\/li>\n<li>Checking the availability of the interview room<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the reservation of the interview room<\/li>\n<li>All the scheduling in the Global Case Management System (GCMS) and,<\/li>\n<li>All notifications sent to the applicant and the judge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/the-eligibility-for-participation\/\">The Eligibility for Participation<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/obtaining-consent\/\">Obtaining Consent<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/scheduling-the-hearing\/\">Scheduling the Hearing<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/scheduling-a-hearing-in-the-global-case-management-system-gcms\/\">Scheduling a Hearing in the Global Case Management System (GCMS)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Source: Citizenship and Immigration<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Appendix E \u2013 Additional Procedures Specific to Citizenship Hearings The Coordination Between Offices Managers would first need to contact their counterparts at the other office for discussing the judge\u2019s availability.
