In British Columbia, job vacancies dropped by 7,200 and in Alberta by 4,300 during the first quarter of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Manitoba, though, saw an increase of 2,200 job vacancies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the regional level, job vacancies fell in 10 of 69 economic regions in the first quarter, led by Toronto, Ontario, Lower Mainland\u2013Southwest, British Columbia and Ottawa, Ontario,\u201d reports Statistics Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the second quarter of 2022, when the overall number of job vacancies reached a record high in Canada, job vacancies have decreased in 33 economic regions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wages for workers in Canada are still going up \u2013 but more slowly than in previous quarters.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>If you are a candidate looking for a Canada job, or an employer looking to recruit foreign talent from abroad, immigration.ca can help.
