{"id":119660,"date":"2023-05-01T18:18:27","date_gmt":"2023-05-01T22:18:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/how-internationally-trained-database-analysts-can-immigrate-to-canada\/"},"modified":"2023-05-01T18:19:51","modified_gmt":"2023-05-01T22:19:51","slug":"how-internationally-trained-database-analysts-can-immigrate-to-canada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/how-internationally-trained-database-analysts-can-immigrate-to-canada\/","title":{"rendered":"How Internationally-Trained\u00a0Database Analysts Can Immigrate To Canada\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Immigration to Canada by internationally-trained database analysts and data administrators is booming with the latest Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) data showing such immigration almost doubled in the first two months of this year compared to the same period of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>In January and February this year, 400 database analysts and administrators\u00a0became new permanent residents of Canada, up 90.5 per cent from the 210 who immigrated during the comparable period last year, IRCC data reveals.<\/p>\n<p>In a record-breaking year for immigration by database analysts and administrators in 2021 when immigration to Canada roared back to life, the country welcomed 1,405 new permanent residents who came to fill such jobs.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Last year, that level of database analyst immigration sagged somewhat, falling roughly 2.1 per cent to 1,375 new permanent residents in 2022. That level of immigration, though, was still up 59.9 per cent over the 860 new permanent residents who came to Canada to do these jobs in 2019, the last full year prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>At the current level of immigration of database analysts and administrators to Canada, the country could welcome 2,400 of these information technology professionals in 2023 if the current trend holds for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Read More<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/quebec-investing-10m-in-immigration-related-research-projects\/\">Quebec Investing $10m In Immigration-Related Research Projects<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-to-spend-1-billion-on-asylum-seekers-this-year-despite-closing-unofficial-border-crossings\/\">Canada To Spend $1 Billion On Asylum Seekers This Year Despite Closing Unofficial Border Crossings<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/british-columbia-issues-132-canada-immigration-invitations-in-new-pnp-draw\/\">British Columbia Issues 132 Canada Immigration Invitations In New PNP Draw<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Ontario, Canada\u2019s most populous province and a growing tech sector in North America, is unsurprisingly drawing the lion\u2019s share of\u00a0database analysts\u00a0interested in immigrating to the country.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, that province attracted 970 new permanent residents to work as database analysts and administrators, aided by its immigration program designed to recruit tech talent, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/immigration-ontario\/\">Ontario Immigration Nominee Program<\/a>\u00a0(OINP)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-express-entry-immigration\/\">Express Entry<\/a>-linked\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/which-occupations-qualify-for-ontario-pnp-tech-draws\/\">Human Capital Priorities<\/a>\u00a0stream.<\/p>\n<p>Ontario selects eligible applicants for tech draws from the Express Entry pool from among candidates who must meet the:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>eligibility criteria for one of its streams, and;<\/li>\n<li>the minimum\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/comprehensive-ranking-system-crs\/\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>\u00a0(CRS) score.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Selected receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Ontario and then submit an application for nomination within 45 days.<\/p>\n<p>If the application is approved, the candidate receives a nomination certificate and 600 points under their Express Entry profile.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Watch the Video<\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1Ly69XLsj0A\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>On the following Express Entry draw, they will receive an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/invitations-apply-permanent-residence-itas\/\">Invitation to Apply<\/a>\u00a0(ITA) for permanent residence which must be submitted within 60 days.<\/p>\n<p>British Columbia, which welcomed 180 database analysts and administrators\u00a0as new permanent residents last year, has its own\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/appercu-des-programmes-des-candidats-des-provinces\/\">Provincial Nominee Program<\/a>\u00a0(PNP) immigration stream to recruit these internationally-trained IT professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/bc-pnp-tech-pilot\/\">BC PNP Tech<\/a>\u00a0stream, British Columbia immigration officials can expedite the processing of immigration candidates for in-demand technology occupations.<\/p>\n<p>Through weekly draws, invitations are issued to candidates with work experience in one of 35 eligible occupations in the BC technology sector. Candidates must still meet the basic requirements of an applicable British Columbia immigration category or stream, including a minimum one-year job offer from an employer in the province.<\/p>\n<h3>Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway Helps Highly-Skilled Workers Immigrate To That Province<\/h3>\n<p>Next door, Alberta also has an immigration stream to help employers recruit these skilled workers. Last year, Prairie province welcomed 40 new permanent residents who came to fill database analyst and administrator positions.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/alberta-express-entry-accelerated-tech-pathway\/\">Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway<\/a>, which falls under the Express Entry stream of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/immigration-alberta\/\">Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program<\/a> (AINP) offers a fast track to Canada immigration for candidates with job offers in one of 38 technology occupations, including software developer.<\/p>\n<p>Under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canadas-new-noc-2021-for-immigration-and-work-permit-applications-takes-effect-today\/\">National Occupational Classification<\/a>\u00a0(NOC) system,\u00a0software\u00a0developers\u00a0are listed as NOC code 21223.<\/p>\n<p>Foreign nationals seeking to immigrate to Canada through the Express Entry system, including through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/requirements-canada-experience-class-program\/\">Canadian Experience Class<\/a>\u00a0(CEC),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/qui-peut-immigrer-au-canada-dans-le-cadre-du-programme-des-travailleurs-qualifies\/\">Federal Skilled Worker<\/a>\u00a0(FSW), and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-express-entry-all-you-need-to-know-about-the-federal-skilled-trades-program\/\">Federal Skilled Trades<\/a>\u00a0(FST) programs, and all linked PNP programs\u00a0need to ensure they are using the right NOC 2021 code now that Canada has upgraded to the new classification system.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly, the demand is strong for\u00a0database analysts and administrators\u00a0in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs digital dependency increases and new technologies drive change across all industries, tech jobs are rising,\u201d reports human resources giant Randstad. \u201cCompanies continue to report skills shortages, leading to shifts in the average salary expectations for top jobs in tech.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEmployers are looking for qualified candidates who can develop and refine technology solutions and use data analysis to streamline existing systems. Other trending jobs in the tech sector involve developing security systems that reduce the risk of data breaches and building the architecture to support stable business cloud computing systems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In April, the Indeed.ca job-hunting website listed 1,139 jobs for database analysts\u00a0and another 594 jobs for database administrators across the country. The federal government\u2019s Jobbank job-hunting and career-planning website rated the prospects for jobs in this sector as \u201cgood\u201d to \u201cvery good\u201d across most of the country for at least the next three years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSalaries are very competitive in the tech sector, in part due to severe skills shortages,\u201d notes Randstad.<\/p>\n<h3>Tech Companies Paying An Average Annual Wage Of $102,300<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cIn 2022, average salaries ranged from $51,900 to $154,300, though certain positions might pay even more. Expectations for salaries in 2023 have shifted slightly, with an average range of $74,000 to $130,600 and a median of $100,100.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Database analysts and administrators\u00a0are among the most often sought-after by employers looking to recruit foreign nationals through the Express Entry system.<\/p>\n<p>Foreign nationals who want to immigrate to Canada can do so through one of the three <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/how-express-entry-works\/\">Express Entry system<\/a>\u00a0programs and apply for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/guidelines-issuing-permanent-resident-visas-foreign-nationals\/\">permanent residency<\/a>\u00a0online if they meet the eligibility criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian employers can also recruit and hire foreign nationals through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/visa-de-travail-canadien-travailler-au-canada\/\">Temporary Foreign Worker\u00a0Program\u00a0<\/a>(TFWP) and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/international-mobility-program\/\">International\u00a0Mobility Program\u00a0<\/a>(IMP).<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-work-permit-global-talent-stream\/\">Global\u00a0Talent\u00a0Stream\u00a0<\/a>(GTS), a part of the TFWP, can under normal processing situations lead\u00a0to\u00a0the granting of Canadian work permits and processing of visa applications within two weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Immigration to Canada by internationally-trained database analysts and data administrators is booming with the latest Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) data showing such immigration almost doubled in the first two months of this year compared to the same period of 2022.
