the USA is their preferred Western destination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Data from the United Nations Population Division shows 2.1 million people born in China were living in the USA in 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Canada is the second most popular destination in the West, home to 710,000 Chinese, a figure that has more than quadrupled since 1990.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In total, 9.55 million people born in China lived in other countries in 2015 compared to 4.23 million 25 years ago.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img justify;\">Australia, Italy and the UK are the other Western nations in the top 10, with countries geographically closer to China also receiving a huge proportion of immigrants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hong Kong is the top receiving territory overall, with South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Macau also featuring in the top 10.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7832\" src=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Chinese-Immigrants-in-Canada.png\" alt=\"Chinese Immigrants in Canada\" https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Chinese-Immigrants-in-Canada-280x159.png 280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wealthy Chinese investors are the main source of investment immigration related programs internationally, including <a href=\"https:\/\/investmentimmigration.com\/us-eb-5-investment-immigration-visa-numbers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the US EB-5<\/a>, with individuals from China accounting for 80 per cent of the visas issued.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Similar statistics can be seen in Portugal, where some <a href=\"https:\/\/investmentimmigration.com\/portugals-1-91b-investment-immigration-success-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2,500 out of 3,000<\/a> issued visas have gone to Chinese nationals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, Canada\u2019s federal investment immigration program is lagging behind the competition despite clear interest from Chinese citizens in moving to the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7833\" src=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/ChineseImmigrants-USA.png\" alt=\"Chinese Immigrants in USA\" width=\"474\" height=\"261\" https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/ChineseImmigrants-USA-280x154.png 280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Pilot Program, launched by the previous Conservative government, includes unrealistic stipulations that have seen Canada slip behind its rivals in the investment immigration field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the Liberal government planning infrastructure projects that will result in a budget deficit, a revamped investment-immigration program could be a lucrative way to close the spending gap.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/quebecbusinessimmigrationmenu\/\">Quebec Immigrant Investor Program<\/a> (QIIP), currently <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/quebec-opens-new-2016-immigrant-investor-program-audio-3\/\">accepting applications<\/a>, remains the most reliable option for high
