May 19, 2016 –\u00a0Hot demand for spaces in Canada\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Provincial Nominee Programs<\/span><\/a>\u00a0was revealed this week as\u00a0<\/span>Saskatchewan invited<\/span>\u00a0500 new\u00a0<\/span>applications and filled<\/span>\u00a0them<\/span>\u00a0inside 36 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

Express Entry\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>pplications for the\u00a0<\/span>Saskatchewan Immi<\/span>grant Nominee Program<\/span><\/a>\u00a0were\u00a0<\/span>invite<\/span>d at 1pm on Tuesday May 17th, and the stream was closed again by Wednesday night May 18th.<\/span><\/p>\n

Skilled workers can now only apply if they have a job offer, under the province\u2019s Employment Offer sub category.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seve<\/span>ral of the provinces have voiced<\/span>\u00a0their co<\/span>ncerns over the size of the quotas in their programs.<\/span><\/p>\n

After closing its highest-volume streams recently,\u00a0<\/span>Ontario<\/span><\/a>\u00a0said it was in\u00a0<\/span>discussions with the federal government<\/span><\/a>\u00a0over the size of its allocation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The provinces see their programs as key to bringing in the specific types of skilled workers they need to boost their individual economies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Saskatchewan program is aimed at selecting applicants who have the education, experience, language proficiency and adaptability to contribute to the province’s prosperity. Nomination is based on a points system, where applicants receive consideration under the following factors:<\/p>\n
