I migrated to Canada a year ago with a visitors visa which was valid for six months.I was invited to a big forum organised in Canada to make things right "up" there at our government levels.I am a very strong activist who is bisexual and fighting for gay rights in my country, since gays and lesbians are seen as "unfit humans" in my country.I have suffered a lot of physical bodily harm in my country as a result of my sexual orientation. To cut a long story short,my Canadian friends bought a ticket for me to come and present my story for the world to know the cruelty that goes on in my country.I did not apply for asylum or anything of that sort since we did not know it,until my visa runned out and was arrested by CBSA enroute to visit some canadian friends in another city.I was given a removal order, and again advised to apply for PRRA if I felt any risk. It's been six months now,and I still report in person to the border office agents every week-No work or whatsoever!!
I really miss my family back home, but they will not have me back because I changed my religion and sleeps with both men and women. They want me to marry a woman and "act naturally".I have married a woman now-Canadian.She wants me to stay here with her because of the threat on my life.My question is:How can she make my stay here legal? Is it advisable for her to sponsor me whilst still waiting for the outcome of my PRRA? What happens if I am denied? Do we divorce so she can maybe remarry, since I will not be in Canada with her?I have sent Police and medical reports to support my PRRA. We are confused?
